My name is Karen. I’m a wife, mother, feminist, humanist, environmentalist, and aspiring historian. I love to be creative, especially I love to write. This blog is place for me to share my personal musings, both fictional and non, on my many loves and loathings, and everything in between.

On this page you will find some sample pieces of my poetry, images of reusable canvass bags that I hand painted myself, some of my own recipes, and various other writings on topics that interest me or move me.

The title of my blog was inspired by a friend who suggested combining two of my most favorite things in the world – Elephants and the ocean. As for the tag-line, that was inspired by two other title suggestions made by another two of my friends.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy reading the things on this blogs as much as I enjoy writing them 🙂

  1. Karen, I just found your writings by a link on Facebook. I just wanted to drop a line and tell you, after reading about seven of your entries straight through and responding to one with a little about myself that seemed relevant….I love your stuff. You and I are of the same mind about everything I’ve read from you thus far. I, too, was doing a blog for awhile, and trying to reach out to “the other side” with facts, logic, and science, to no avail, and I gave up. I applaud you, I thank you, and I will continue, with your blessing, to pass along your wonderful blogs!

  2. Karen, I am another personr reading your blogs following the links from facebook. Any way you would allow subscription to your blogs via your FB profile? Thank you for your writing – I love reading you!
